Program Delivery Director

About the role:

Arkeus is seeking an experienced Program Delivery Director to lead program delivery across multiple concurrent engineering and production initiatives. This is a critical leadership role, balancing program execution, customer engagement and disciplined delivery processes, directly contributing to business success.

In this role you will directly implement and oversee project and program governance frameworks, manage budgets and resources in a highly specialized and multi-disciplinary environment, ensure alignment of work packages against customer success themes.  

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of the leadership team and work closely with the C-Suite to align program outcomes with Arkeus’ strategic growth goals.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional product and technical leads, fostering a culture of accountability, discipline and delivery excellence.  
  • Oversee the ongoing implementation and maintenance of program governance and process optimisation to drive efficiency, quality and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to align program objectives with business strategy and customer needs.
  • Own program budgets, forecasting, resourcing and risk management across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Negotiate customer requirements and commitments during the bid-phases, translating them into executable delivery plans, and directly manage the project delivery experience of the customer.
  • Ensure smooth transition from R&D to production and maintain delivery discipline throughout the lifecycle.
Your experience and skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Science, or related discipline).
  • Proven program leadership delivering multi-million-dollar Defence, Aerospace or complex systems programs through to production.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple major programs, including budgets, cost control, resource allocation and risk mitigation.
  • Strong customer-facing and negotiation experience, particularly with Defence primes or government partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic business focus with structured program delivery.
  • Experienced in embedding program discipline within delivery and commercial teams to support governance frameworks and executive reporting.

Financial Controller

About the role:

Arkeus is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Controller to establish our first internal finance capability and build the financial infrastructure to support scale.

To date, Arkeus’ finance operations have been managed externally through a consultancy. This role will bring those functions in-house, implement the systems, controls, and processes needed for audit readiness, and lay the foundation for sustainable growth.

You’ll work closely with our fractional CFO, leadership team, and virtual bookkeeping partner during the transition period and ultimately take full ownership of financial operations, reporting, and governance as the company matures.

This is a hands-on build role for someone who loves creating order and structure from the ground up, combining technical excellence with commercial insight.

Key responsibilities:

Build the Finance Function

  • Lead the transition from outsourced finance to an internal, scalable finance function.
  • Establish financial systems, controls and processes that enable audit readiness and compliance.
  • Implement fit-for-purpose tools (e.g. Xero, approval workflows, payroll and ERP integrations).
  • Recruit, mentor and manage a bookkeeper/accountant to support daily operations.

Financial Control, Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports - P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and forecasts.
  • Develop dashboards and financial KPIs to support leadership and board reporting.
  • Manage end-to-end accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with AASB/IFRS, tax regulations and company policies.
  • Build and maintain robust internal controls and documentation to ensure audit readiness.

Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

  • Work closely with the CEO, COO and interim CFO to develop budgets, forecasts and long-term financial models.
  • Provide analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making, investment and resource allocation.
  • Support funding rounds and investor reporting through accurate data and narrative clarity.
  • Guide leaders to “own their numbers” through transparency, education and collaboration.

Project & R&D Finance

  • Create project-based budgeting and reporting frameworks across hardware, software and R&D programs.
  • Align BOMs, project codes and cost structures for visibility over spend, milestones and burn rates.
  • Support R&D tax incentive claims, grants and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with operations to improve inventory management, cost attribution and financial forecasting.
Your experience and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior accounting leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to build finance functions, systems and processes in a start-up or scale-up.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with audit, reporting and compliance expertise.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero (or similar) and compatible approval/workflow tools.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ARKEUS you will work within a team of engineers to create complex, cutting edge mechatronics products. You will be primarily responsible for the evolution of our products for new applications. This will involve DFM activities, hand calculations and FEA modelling.

About you:

You have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, with proven experience in developing high-value, low-volume, and complex mechatronic products. You have been hands-on through all stages of the product development lifecycle—from concept generation and detailed design to system integration, testing, and ongoing support.

You are passionate about engineering excellence and take pride in delivering robust, innovative solutions. As a senior engineer at ARKEUS, you will play a key role in shaping and driving best practices in electronics design and testing, fostering a culture of technical rigor and continuous improvement.

Your skillsets ideally include experience with designing from standards, GD&T, co-design with electronic engineers, modelling and simulation in Ansys and Solidworks. You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and are comfortable navigating the challenges of integrating mechanical, electronic, and software systems into cohesive, high-performance products.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to development of ARKEUS products ready for manufacture, taking prototype systems and developing and enhancing their design.
  • Work with the Manufacturing team to develop efficient systems and process to handle issues that arise from the testing and manufacturing process
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Perform system-level testing, debugging, and validation to ensure functional performance and reliability.
  • Support transition from prototype to production, including DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of product development processes and engineering best practices.

Your experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product development involving mechanical systems.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD/FEA and PBM/PLM software: SolidWorks, Ansys, etc.
  • Hands on skills are desirable: laser cutting, bending, milling, turning, finishing, etc.  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.

  • You have 3+ years’ commercial experience with C++ or Rust; at least one years' experience with Rust
