About the role:

Arkeus is an Australian SME whose technology is disrupting both surface and airborne ISR. . Arkeus has secured numbers of contracts in Australia, along with some growing opportunities in the United States. 

Arkeus are now looking for a business development professional who is excited by the opportunity to become our foundational US based commercial lead. 

Working closely with our CEO, who travels frequently from Australia, this role will be accountable for growing our US based business, converting opportunities already in our pipeline and being responsible for ensuring our customers have a compelling experience with our products.

We are seeking a hard-working individual who wants to play a leadership role in transforming ISR, not merely go along for the ride.

About you:
Key responsibilities:
  • Support the conversion of our existing pipeline of US based opportunities
  • Generate a new pipeline of opportunities and capture new business. 
  • Update CRM.
  • Build and execute a comprehensive US strategy for rapidly dominating the ISR market
  • Demonstrate an ability to build trusted advisor relationships with key influencers and stakeholders.
  • Develop proposals, bid responses and white papers in support of developing opportunities
  • Develop a deep understanding of our potential market, including customer roadmaps and how they intersect with Arkeus now and into the future
  • Work closely with our Field Integration and Training (FIT) team to ensure our delivery, deployment and sustainment meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Support our understanding of the competitive landscape and its likely evolution
  • Work closely with our product teams to ensure product roadmaps are closely aligned to US market opportunities 
  • Ensure Arkeus CRM is up to date and closely integrated with our marketing and commercial strategy
  • Drive and contribute to US weekly reports and quarterly business reviews (QBR’s) on business development/growth
  • Demonstrate our principal value of delivering a compelling customer experience.
Your experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, management, marketing or related areas
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant acquisition, Business development, and/or capture experience in the government and/or private sector, with at least 5 years working for, or to, the US DoD.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience working with Program Executive Officers, and officers in charge of Capability Requirements Development across the U.S. DoD and/or DHS.
  • Demonstrated experience working with autonomous airborne systems (preferred, but not required)
  • Demonstrated experience in navigating the challenges of communicating, deploying, and sustaining complex systems. 
  • Ability to identify, establish, and leverage key relationships with mid-level stakeholders within the U.S. DoD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers.
  • Capable of succeeding in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative environment.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance. TS/SCI preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.

Arkeus is a small Australian company who have developed disruptive technology in the defense payloads space. We are seeking an enthusiastic Inside Sales Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in providing valuable support to our business development and field integration and training teams, along with responding to customer and prospect queries. The ideal candidate should possess a foundation of experience in proactive B2B customer sales with complex products. You should have the ability to analyze and interpret sales metrics, demonstrating a goal-oriented mindset. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

By utilising your expertise, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of positive customer relationships, while ensuring the smooth operation of our sales team. You will spend a good portion of your time educating customers about our autonomous optical systems, so you will need to quickly become competent in our technology.

You will be entrusted with managing their schedules, coordinating meetings, and ensuring that all administrative tasks are handled efficiently. Your proactive approach and ability to anticipate needs will significantly ease the workload of our CEO, enabling them to lead the company more effectively.

In this dynamic role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to synchronise your work schedule with our CEO’s, who frequently engages in international travel.   • Active Assistance: Facilitate a seamless experience for the CEO by taking the initiative in managing their calendar, schedule, communications. Anticipating and addressing the CEO needs before they surface.
  • Communication and Correspondence: Oversee inbox management, ensuring daily monitoring and swift action as necessary. Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the CEO, demonstrating a firm grasp of their communication style. Draft, revise, and proofread reports, presentations, and general correspondence.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Prepare meeting agendas and briefings, and record minutes. Coordinate actions and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Process Improvement: Identify potential improvements to company-wide systems and processes, striving for increased efficiency.
  • General & Administrative Duties: Responsibilities include managing office supplies and equipment, liaising with relevant vendors, and overseeing and reporting on expenses for the CEO.
  • Event and Travel Management: Organise and coordinate domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodations, and transportation. Prepare travel itineraries, lead the coordination of Exhibition and Demonstration events, including planning, registration, and attendance at Trade Shows.
  • Special Projects: Support the CEO with various projects, conducting research and providing assistance as required. This may encompass drafting marketing content or exploring new opportunities.
Your experience and skills:
  • Demonstrated expertise as an Executive Assistant or in a similar capacity, providing support to leadership roles.
  • Outstanding organisational abilities and time-management skills.
  • Superior written communication skills, with the capability to create refined and influential messages.
  • Proficiency in platforms such as Insightly, Xero, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Decisions, To-do and Teams. 
  • A positive outlook that flourishes in a fast-paced environment.
  • The capacity to swiftly adjust and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or Communications, or 3 years of relevant professional experience.
