Arkeus recently welcomed Special Operations Commander Major General Garth Gould, CSC DSM to our office. The visit underscored Arkeus’ critical role in supporting our Australian Defence Force and provided an opportunity to showcase our autonomous optical ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) technology.
Key areas of interest for the visiting party were Arkeus’ iterative process of rapid design, innovation, and fabrication and the potential to apply our flagship Hyperspectral Optical Radar’s (HSOR) cutting-edge optical capability to new mission profiles.
While most sensors require operators to visually sift through massive data volumes, leading to inevitable fatigue and reduced effectiveness, Arkeus’ approach breaks this paradigm.
HSOR is built for autonomy from day one. Rather than requiring operators to analyse masses of data to determine what is relevant, our systems leverage advanced machine learning and AI to deliver only the data that is mission-critical to operators. This acceleration of decision-making gives our forces a critical edge in time-sensitive situations.
At Arkeus, we are driven by a shared mission to ensure Australia’s defence force has access to world-class, sovereign capability. It was a privilege to be able to discuss wide-area autonomous surveillance and its potential to reduce operational costs and optimise resource allocation for Australia’s Special Force operators. Arkeus is grateful for the time the Major General took to understand the role Arkeus plays in supporting the Australian war fighter.
